Here is a little bit more about the musicians that will play on our farm this year.
GEOFFERY CASTLE-Solo electric six-string violin.
You may have seen him with the Children of the Revolution, the Coats, Andre Feriante, and the Guarneri Underground, and recently at Seven Cedars Casino here in Sequim!
One man, one violin. Doesn't sound like much does it? It doesn't, that is, until you experience what happens to one violin in the hands of violin wizard Geoffrey Castle. Originally from New York City, with credits that include film, television, a multitude of recordings and Broadway stage performances, Castle makes the Northwest his home and launching pad for a ground-breaking show that combines acoustic and electric violin and the best in modern stage technology. Castle brings the violin into the new millenium with his custom six-string instrument - drawing out the sound of cellos, violas, violins, and a rich textural palette of grooves and tones usually assocciated with electric guitarists like Bill Frisell or Jimi Hendrix.
Founder of Guarneri Underground, and member of the flamenco-rock powerhouse Children of the Revolution, Castle has established himself as one of the most diverse fiddlers in the Northwest.
Castle's music draws from a deep well of influences that span the globe. Fans of Celtic music, modern classical composers like Steven Reich and Philip Glass, and fans of Middle Eastern, African, Country and Rock and will find familiar points of reference during the performance, which Castle graces with humorous anecdotes drawn from a lifetime of performing all over the world.
A big THANK YOU to all of our fabulous muscians!
