Geoffrey Castle concerts cancelled

Due to circumstances beyond our control the Geoffrey Castle concerts scheduled for August 23rd and 24th at our farm have been cancelled. It’s a shame because Geoff is SUCH a wonderful violinist and showman but it’s something that’s beyond our control.

Geoffrey Castle concert times at the farm

Geoff Castle will play three mini concerts on both the 23rd and 24th of this month at our farm. He’ll be on stage at the south lawn and will play from noon to 1pm, 2-3pm, and 4-5pm both days. He’s got quite a following in…

Just a frog

I couldn’t resist snapping a pic of this tiny frog perched on our basil plants in our greenhouse. The photo just doesn’t do the golden coloring of this little critter justice but still it’s a cool shot.

Distillation time!

It’s that time of year again to fire up the distiller and start making essential oil. Our new distillation plant is something to behold! It’s a propane fired boiler that generates 1.2 million btu’s and steams about 600 gallons of flowers at a time. That’s…

The farm is BUSY!!!

The staff continues to cut lavender and hang it in the many barns that we rent. All of the varieties are now in full bloom and the crowds keep coming. Yesterday was the biggest “non festival” Saturday we’ve had here and we expect today will…

Whew! What a party!

Well, judging from the crowds, this Lavender Festival is bigger and better than ever; super music, great food, incredible artisan vendors, and tons of happy people.  Cars were stacked up clear down the road last night still at 4pm and the music was still rocking.…

Festival time!!

The lavender festival is about to begin! Last night all the vendors showed up and are now established around the farm. The stage is ready for all the musicians and our staff is ready for the thousands of people that will show up shortly. The…

Fast Eddie and the Slow Learners

One of our favorite local musical groups will be playing at our farm this weekend for the Lavender Festival. Fast Eddie and the Slow Learners play rock n roll classics and truly do “rock” the people. We look forward every year to their performance as…

Our guests from Tennessee

Yesterday a garden touring group from the Northeast corner of Tennessee visited with Beeline Tours. They were a gracious group of folks and fun to talk with. The weather was gorgeous and it appeared that all enjoyed their time here.

Changing Gears

An annual group that stops by the farm each summer for many years now is a womens bicycle group called Changing Gears. They’re a great group and they typically take a nice long ride early in the day, enjoy a delicious lunch on the south…

Full bloom!

The fields are right on schedule! These past few hot days have caught the lavender plants up to almost where they should be this time of year and the fields are spectacular now. We’ve seen thousands of visitors this past weekend and today is starting…

Open house at the farmhouse vacation rental

We decided at the last minute to hold an informal open house at the vacation rental yesterday and the response was pretty impressive. Dozens of folks wandered through the house and the comments were really positive. Rosalind and I sat on the front porch and…

U pick has started

Several varieties of lavender are now in full bloom and U pick is in full swing at the farm. The fields are beautiful as per usual but because of our long, wet, cold spring are a little later than usual.

Check out our NEW WEBCAM!

We have just installed our new webcam in time for you to see the lavender as it comes into full bloom!  This next week we should be ready for U-Pick!  The fields are really developing a beautiful “purple haze”.
